Looking at 07 Z4M Coupe

So this 07 Z4M popped up in my area, I was told the asking price is 30k

63,779 miles
Eisenmann exhaust
Grupe M intake
Brembo big brake kit (front)

From what I've been told so far. Maybe the guy that owned it before is on the forum still?

Question is.. Is this a good deal? What should I ask for it? Please let me know.

I'd be trading my '10 335i.

Overpriced. And a bit too "tweaked" (logo colors, wheels, are those taillights tinted? Yikes.). Make me think - young owner, probably ridden hard and put away wet. Mileage definitely high relative to asking price. Paint job doesn't look great in pics - been through automatic car washes maybe? Look at the hood. Might just be crappy pics, might be poorly cared for.

If I'm in your shoes - I seek out a lower-mileage, stock or near-stock car, older owner (and ONE owner), weekend car kinda thing. Those are definitely out there. And likely for less money. Good luck!

At that price point you'd be foolish NOT to get a PPI. Get it checked out before you make a serious offer. 30K does sound a bit on the high side. Although those wheels/tires are worth some money if you decide to return to stock or other aftermarket choices.

The PPI will tell you about some wearables that you cannot obviously see but can cost you some maintenance bucks! good luck!

It's a decent price (not the lowest) if you dig all the mods and would have otherwise done it the same way yourself. If not, you're paying for someone else's taste in mods.

Check out the Classifieds section of this forum. There are 5 Z4 M Coupes on the first page alone and you can do a search to find some comps from the past year. Those are nice rims though, probably worth a couple grand used.

I was cleaning the back side of my floor mat the other day (I usually only vacuum the floor and the top of the mat). Found a ton of white hair. Apparently that's a good thing Actually the PO was a petite old lady, so that actually is a good thing for the seats as well. My M sport seats still look new. I'm sure a fat slob would've trashed them.

It is a decent price. You could always part out the aftermarket parts if you don't like them (wheels with decent tires would be at least $2k, exhaust maybe $1k, Gruppe M Intake easily $600, etc...)

Definitely have an independent PPI done. Also see if you can get the service records/histories on the car (especially if valve job is needed since it is a big ticket maintenance)
Good luck with the search.

If you part the BBK, I will sell you my OEM rotors and calipers for a reasonable price.

That's more mileage and more mods than I'd care for especially at that price. I'd definitely get a PPI before you commit. The good news is that at that mileage Inspection II should be done already.

I bought my loaded 2007 Z4M (nav, extended leather, etc.) with 15K miles a little over 5 years ago for $32K. It's not a valid comparison anymore but it's great to see that our cars have basically stopped depreciating.

I was thinking the same thing.

I don't post much these days (okay, ever...), but when'd you move to LA, Tai?! I guess that means one less SB Z4M in my area.

you sure that white hair isn't from some blonde over peroxided prostitute who used to get down and dirty inside your zed?

Hey Jeff! Yeah I can't say I hang out in the forums much these days either... I moved about 3 years ago. Drove the Z4M out here when I moved (10 hours of driving a day, but was an amazing trip and the car handled it like a champ). It's definitely happy to be in warm, rainless weather all year round.

Hope all is well with you and your M!
