Old TIS does not run on Windows 7?

Just got a new computer with Windows 7. My TIS Disc does not load. Anyone know where to get a Windows 7 version? TIA

setup vmware workstation or virtual pc with windows xp, and run your old copy from there.

I did that for a while. Now I have TIS/DIS/SSS running in VMs.

Just one question...duh, wha? Think of me as completely computer illiterate. What does all that mean?

A virtualized work station. It's basically a software layer that runs on top of one of the processors in the computer (assuming you have a PC with a newer chip with multiple cores) that is capable of running a SEPARATE copy of Windows at the same time Windows 7 is running.

I've got TIS to work on Vista but it's not stable. Works just well enough for me to look up some info and then it'll crash eventually. Will probably migrate to the virtual XP.

I think that doing that might work, but would slow the computer down. not worth it, just for TIS. I'll just find an old, beat up laptop to use as a "garage computer"

You dont run it all the time, you run it when you turn on the virtual machine.. and turn off the virtual machine when you're done with TIS.. yeah a spare old laptop would be easy too..

See if this fixes it: Right click on the TIS icon, click on the Compatibility tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then select "Windows XP SP3" from the drop down list.

I believe the issue is the TIS installer won't run in Win7.

That's what I did.
Then I have it available when I'm working on the car.

Forgive the Noob question, but where exactly does one go about getting their hands on a copy of the TIS software?

What TIS Icon? I can't even get the Disc to run and install. It starts to run, Sets up the installation, and then asks me what language. Then...nothing. Just spins. No Icon that I can see.

TIS ~ repair manual

You have all the torque specs, etc. If you wrench on your own car, its a great resource! Even if you don't, its a good asset. Ebay is easiest place to grab a copy.
