Okay to buy a two-owner car?
I've been looking at a 2006 white M roadster with 31K miles offered for $28K. It looks clean but it had two previous owners. Would that be a deal breaker? I hate not knowing the history of a car... but it seems like a pretty good deal.

is it with a red interior? I saw a white M roadster for sale for 24.5k (private seller)... and this car used to be around UCSD.

Sure its ok. My car had 2 previous owners as well. Guy who originally leased it turned it in early, the someone else finished out the remainder of the lease, then I bought it!
Most important thing is that its been in no serious accidents or had any major repairs (service history report). |

^^ The Z4M never had a ZCP package. A lot of people like the rims, and I think they look great on the M coupe.
I wouldn't be too worried about a 2 owner car. You should be able to get the maintenance records from the dealer if the owner cannot provide them. Most important is to make sure oil has been changed regularly. At 30k miles, an inspection should be coming up--although I wouldn't be too worried about that, but factor in about 500-800 dollars on top of that price for a valve clearance check since you're out of warranty. (Any ticking in the engine?)

Even if the current owner doesn't have records can't the dealer pull the service history? Hopefully it will at least show the first oil change and any in-warranty work.
Since then a visual inspection should be good- oil fill cap will at least let you peek inside and see the cams, coolant tank inspection, etc. |

I didn't get to put them on yet! Still wondering if I should run spacers to clear my BBK or not. The car is priced at 3.5k above from what I saw before. My craigslist post at the regional section in zpost was about this same exact car sitting at 31k miles... I've seen this car in person twice and it looks nice. But now at 28k the price is kind of high (as I saw it for 24.5kobo)... It's a nice color combo!
