Unequal length exhaust / headers?

Just came across this on a local Facebook group and I was pretty impressed. By adding a little length to two cylinders on the header these guys managed to make a i4 sound just like a Subaru/boxer engine.

Wondering what's possible, what the ramifications are of doing anything like this to our i6's?

Would a slightly LESS unequal length than what is pictured below translate to a v6 sound as opposed to the boxer sound?

Just curious. Food for thought!
