I just bought the car in December, but I have to sell it now. I'm going overseas for a few years, and I dont want to be paying for a car I can't drive. I bought the car at a CarMax, and I know if I try to sell it back to them they'll low ball the hell out of me.

Its a 2007 M roadster interlagos blue with light sepang bronze extended leather, dark beige top factory wheels with about 39k miles.

There were only 5 '07 M roadsters with this paint and interior

In the few months I have owned the car I have taken very good care of it both inside and out. The only mods I have done to the car was a clutch stop, short antenna, beige top covers for when the top is down and a first aid box under the passenger seat. I also had to order all the manuals since it didn't come with any when I bought the car.

Car also still has certified pre owned warranty.

Brand new rear tires as well, installed last thursday.(pic below)

Whatever you do, don't go back to Carmax. I tried the same thing and was offered $9k less than what I paid. Pretty crappy considering it was only 8 months and 600 miles later. Have fun overseas, I just got back from Germany and regretted buying my M after got back from there. Would have come handy on the Ring. GLWS!

I love this combination.. It was my top choice when I was looking for a coupe.. Settled for my second choice of Space Grey with Light Sepang.. GLWS!!

I have this combo in coupe form, and it is gorgeous! Except I have carbon trim.. there's only 1 coupe with Interlagos/Extended Sepang/Aluminum

Also I checked with carmax and their offer is 27500. This is still less than what I owe, so I will still consider offers. HOWEVER it was explained to me that since the vehicle has a lein through carmax financial, it may be hard to get a loan from another financial institution for a vehicle already on a lein. I am going to check to see what carmax financial says my possible actions are for selling the vehicle private party are should anyone consider buying for my asking price. I was told the vehicle will go out on the lot for 29,500, but after taxes and registration and everything from buying the car with them, that will easily put the final price over 33k.

I think it helped that I added factory accessories and told them it had a CPO warranty. I also played up the rare factor then threw in the going over seas military thing. I'm not that guy that usually takes advantage of the military sympathy card and I rarely ever mention even serving, but in this case it will help me not go absolutely broke when I have to pay the difference. They did tell me though that they are going to sell it with a sticker price higher than what I bought it for, which is kinda weird.

I would still rather sell the car to someone who is an actually M fan / enthusiast that will take care of it. Now that I found out how rare it is, I kinda wish I was keeping it.

I know this car will sell for 30k to the right buyer, especially with how rare this set up is, its just a matter of finding that buyer.

GLWS, but unless you have a lot of time to find the right buyer, and want to deal with tire kickers, I think $27.5K is a good hassle free price for a '07 Roadster. The rarely of the color combo doesn't necessarily make it desirable. Interlagos is desirable, but the roof color may not.

Agree with note on color as the blue is great not a huge fan of interior color. Now a red or terracotta would be the bomb.

I'm usually pretty good at this...but what does GFTS mean?

I had 2 cars that were red with black leather and I hated it. The red stands out too much for me and black leather gets way too hot. My miata was a similar color combo with blue/green paint and tan leather inside and I loved it. When I saw this car I had to buy it, now i wish I didn't have to sell it.

Well even though I am leaving California on Tuesday I am giving a power of attorney to one of my friends to sell the car for me. It will run out in July where I will either have him sell it back to carmax, a private buyer, or decide to keep it and ship it back to my parents' house while I'm gone.

Bump, love this color combo. That is a GREAT price from Carmax though, more than the coupes are even going for private party. GLWS or trade-in.
