transmission fluid

I will try this again since there is no record of my last query.
What are the alternate ATF's for the steptronic tranny for an E85 z4? Mine is starting to make gurgling noises in drive and reverse when it is idling.

Is this due to the fluid level being low or in need of a total change? I had started doing this after about a 4k trip which it ran fine on. Also it appears that the bellows (on the intake) has started whistling back at me more often so I guess its also time to get in there and see where the leak is.

Valvoline Import ATF fully synthetic. $6.95 quart at oreillys. Used it in my Z4 last year when changing fluid.
