CDV Quick Question
Hello,
I don't have warranty with my stealership and not worried about it.. Should I delete the CDV or install modified one?? Is it possible actually to just delete it? 2006 M Coupe E86 Thanks |

Just delete it. I did it while under warranty and they never even noticed

yes pretty sure you need to bleed it too. They def bled mine after they opened up the line for the CDV job.

I replaced mine with a modified one, because I was afraid the hose wouldn't easily reach.
Turns out it would have. I used a "hose squeezer" to keep the leakage to a minimum, and did a fast swap. Didn't lose any fluid except what was in the volume of the CDV. Just did a quick bleed to work that one bubble out. Much smoother shifts from 1st to 2nd, and less clutch wear. Definitely a "must do" mod. |

Not to high jack the thread, but typically how much would it cost to have an indi shop change the CDV for you? I'm I'm northern NJ and was quoted $300 to replace the CDV as well as change my diff and tran fluids. Which by the way I be providing Redline fluids.

My Indie pulled my CDV off while he had the car on the hoist for something else...no extra charge for the 5 minutes it took him. Hardly worth trying to do it yourself when you can get it done for nothing.
