... the best smiles per miles ratio?
So I have been looking for my a 3rd car. And my choices have been categorized by price range (we already have a RAV4 for house duties and an RX350 for family use). $0-15K E93 convertible $15-20K E85/6 3.0si or ///M $20-25K 987 Boxster $25-30K CLK 63 or CLS 63 $30-40K 997 911s $40K up Quattroporte / Vantage I am not too worried about reliability or mileage for my toy car because I have 2 Toyotas which are incredibly reliable and cheap to maintain. Also I like wrenching and modding and I jut want a fun car... What's your list look like? R. |

that said, my buddy has a V8 Vantage, I've driven it quite a few times, and it sounds nice, drives ok too. Cayman S is missing from your list, if i was looking for another 2 seat go cart, if i couldn't get a z4mc, id be looking at the cayman. Cheers, and good luck with your hunt.

I'd really like to add a p car to the lineup, but I just picked up a '13 CLS63 AMG. Been looking myself, but my '05 Z4 is worth next to nothing in comparison ('05 w/ 75k miles). I won't be able to find anything unless I shell $30k+ into something else.

You need more than $15-20k for a nice M.

Good M roadies pop up quite often below $25k, for whatever reason they aren't as beloved as the coupes. Good thing for us that don't mind unlimited headroom
Mine was $23,900 with 36k miles, from a dealer. Fantastic value for money with these cars. |

Have a 86 Carrera 3.2 and the Z4M, both convertibles and I think the 911 is probably better in the smile per mile department... no one ever asks about the Z4M at the gas station lol. I have enough verts, a four door with a turbo is next on my list

lol its complete opposite here, in a sea of 911's and caymans, its an extremely uncommon sight to see a z4m here.. extremely.. needless to say, lots of people ask and gawk..

The CLS63 in my garage never fails to make me laugh at the power every time I get on it. Although I will say that the M feels more "special"
Different strokes for different folks I guess. Test drive them all to get a feel for it.

I came within a gnat's eyelash of buying a Lotus before I bought the ///M, but I was afraid I would have to spend too much time working on it. If I only knew then ... That reminds me. I need to get those RTABs on order.

Wow. So I looked into it just a little bit. Used Lotus Exige 240S are in the 60-80K range.
Nevermind.

I am seriously considering another coupe. I'm wearing this one out dailying it...
Regarding the mention above of the m roadster not getting much attention. I get tons of looks and questions in my coupe. I've noticed folks taking pics or filming from other cars on occasion. |

Who said the ///M Roadster doesn't get attention? I get thumbs up, "nice car", people wanting to talk to me all the time. Oh, he's in San Francisco. Never mind, lol.
I think the Z4M Roadster is one of the best values available right now. Not to mention it's a BLAST to drive. |
