Z4 M new exhaust system
So I found this on a Japanese tuning website and decided to post a picture.
It is suppose to increase engine performance on 6500 rpm up to 8000 rpm it is on final testing stages. I would appreciate if anyone can confirm this because my Japanese really sucks. |

What I could not understand is if they based the idea on m3 design so here is the link http://www.saclam.com/cgi-bin/mt5/mt...ogs=6&limit=20

wrong (no offense), the concept is great, they made the pipe length =, what makes the timing between the exhaust almost the same and right after that they put a x-pipe what will help with the scavenging and to reduce loss of pressure they use a Cat with 100 cell what is not very restrictive.

Can't really help, no japanese here.
Don't wanna threadjack but I'm working with borla to get a exhaust made for the M cars. One of their development factories is right down the road from where I work and one of the lead developers is a customer in my store. But seeing as my car is down for the moment it'll be at least a couple weeks.

It doesn't look like a very good design.
Our exhausts never cross over so only the headers should be equal length. The parts down from the headers shouldnt have the bends in them like that, if its for the purpose of equal length.

Scavenging and speed of exhaust is the purpose of that, for what I read on their website they have being doing this for a long time, and they know what they are doing. but have some stuff that I could not understand yet so that is why the help on the translation would be good

I just went through alll of their pages and some of the stuff that they are creating looks very very good. Its eveident that they look at how and why the OEM stuff is the way it is before they create their version. There is a number of photos where they have cut open the oem muffler to see how it functions.
Couldnt help but show a copy of this photo - Craziest M exhaust system i have seen so far. I wouldnt have thought that many Z4M's would have gone to japan - compared to the US or europe - yet, these guys have 3 or 4 different versions of exhaust systems for our car. |
