Steering wheel button issues after installing an aftermarket stereo in my e85 z4

Hello so I've installed an alpine stereo in my z4 with a wire harness to retain the steering wheel buttons. I came across an issue where my steering wheel buttons work perfectly while my car is in the ON position, but when I start my car I then lose access to them, any help is greatly appreciated! BTW the wire harness I'm using is (SWRBM-57K) from crux.

It is possible that you are taking your 12 volts from the wrong source. Different sources have 12 volts on or off depending on key position.

I did contact them, and we were talking over the phone, they weren't able to help really, they said it might just be my e85

I was thinking this same thing, everything is wired how they want color to color, and I was looking at the instructions everything is how it should be, but only in the on position
