WTF Stolen Grills

Went to a friend's house in the city, parked in front of his house, upon leaving found out some fing jack@$$ stole my front grills! I wouldn't be too overly upset as they are easily replaced until I see that they broke one of them out and busted the bottom bumper plastic clips!

What the heck is wrong with people - I am moving to Germany where no one would dream of touching your car

Anyone point me to some reasonable CF replacement grills?

you're right... that guy is a jack@$$.

to my knowledge, you'll have to replace the front cover if you want those clips/prongs back on your car.

Front cover as in the entire bumper. I had that issue as well, just use 3m double sided tape. Poor design on BMW's part if you ask me. Sorry to hear OP.

Unfortunately it happens all the time.

Went through several grills on my old E36.

This sucks.

Some people need a good hard kick in the arse with a cold boot.

Can your insurance company help you out, or will that just drive up your insurance costs?

I have a $200 deductible so not worth it for the insurance - but on the plus side I have been wanting to upgrade so I just bought the the CF's.

I guess it was a forced mod

be careful parking your car next time. CF looks so much more attractive to common scum!

Agreed, I'd be more worried about $150 grills being stolen. And the few CF grills I've seen on E46's always turn yellow/peel because the finish is so bad.

Is CF conductive? Running current through them might solve the problem!!

Looks more like vandalism than theft. I always thought it sucked you could just rip these out, as opposed to other models where you have to push the grills out from behind the bumper. I have a spare chrome set, they're yours free if you'd like, only a few dead bugs on them

I work in a shady area downtown with a public lot and this kind of stuff is always happening to me too. I now drive a $2500 car to work.

Can I take them off your hand. One of mine has a "missing tooth"

PM me the address; I'm in Atlanta this week, but will ship them as soon as I get back; I think OP wants CF now that I re-read the post.

I actually have to make a list of stuff I have that's extra for the car, like extra fully intact cup holders (I ripped them out 2nd week of ownership).

Maybe it was because they knew you were looking for an excuse to upgrade to carbon fiber.

In all seriousness. That sucks.

Same happened to me. In the process they broke the clips. BMW said clips are on the front bumper and glued on the replacement grill.
