4.45 diff?

Found a few threads about 4.1s but nothing higher. Turnermotorsport has 4.45 and 4.75.

Just wondered if anyone has any real world experience with them.
My Z4MC is a weekend/perfect weather queen that almost never sees the highway so top speed is not really an issue. Torque is

I have dropped a 4.44 from an E83 in my non M for shits and giggles, as an experiment.
I am same as you, torque over top speed turns my crank.
I believe the 6 speed in mine is same as in the M, could be wrong on that.

Car should be ready to drive next weekend so I can report back my findings.
I expect some traction issues with an open diff and estimated 450+hp

If I can live with that short a ratio, I will fit an lsd

I thought about supercharging it but figured it will have plenty of giddy up at stock HP with those gears in it.

Please let me know how big of a difference you feel with the 4.44s

What is the stock ratio for the non M cars?

I believe 3.07 is stock. I have had various ratios, 3.64, 3.73.
Never actually driven one with stock ratio, got to modding the day I had it shipped from Florida to Canada.

For stock ratios take a look at this threads web archive link few posts in. There’s also a calculator on the site linked that’ll help out calculate what your cruising rpms will be at any gear when changing from any ratio to any ratio. https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1826188

Also considered a 4.44 differential from an E83, but decided on a 3.46 for ease of availability. Not sure if an upgrade over my stock 3.23. Thou I have noticed at-least a 2mpg decrease due to ~500 rpm higher cruising speed. Standing by for your verdict of the 4.44, really really considered this at one point!
