Working on a gauge pod idea
I got this idea from an E46 M3. They deleted the air vents for a gauge pod location. In my build, I have deleted the stereo head unit.
the pod will house gauges for Boost, oil pressure, water temp & exhaust temp. My AFR gauge is going to another location in the car This is my cardboard 1st draft

I don't know man, the only thing I would want to hear in your car is the sound of that VT-2 powered S54 :-)

OMG..... I am so subscribed for this one Chris.
Ever since I saw your strip out post where you removed the HU & harness, I've been thinking of something like this. Absofreakinlutyly AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I'm with you 1000% on the S54 tunes. I never listen to my radio & I mean never. I would pull my HU in a heartbeat for something like this. I've been planning gauges for some time. My #1 design goal is to have them up where they are easily visible. Big on this one Chris.

The engine sounds get a little repetitive to me. I turn off the music when its time to test the peak boost recall feature on the gauge though good call on not putting the AFR gauge there, it doesn't match the others as well, and is very bright from what I've seen. I'd also put all those gauges on a seperate dimmer switch, since they're brighter than stock lighting

You could install a trim if you need to balance the base level.

I have my boost gauge wired to the shift knob light wire, so it dims together with the rest of the car's lights, but its still brighter

You can add a trim pot to balance them.

Not to get too far off topic, but I wonder if you could install a radio in the area between the seats below where the navigation disc drive is. That way you could delete the center stack, work the radio from the steering wheel, and have the gauges. Probably WAY too much effort.
That said, I'd like to see someone utilize the stock navigation screen better---digital gauges like the GT-R. Nonetheless, this is going to look amazing. Keep up the great work.

Ya got to have real gauges in this bad ass car. Leave the vid-gamer interior to the likes of the GTR.

once you see these stack gauges in person, and in action, you'll forget all about digital gauges

Was looking at mine tonight.
I think the biggest challenge will be creating a back panel that looks OE. I'm sure Chris is up to the task. ....I can't wait to see this come together.
