What if pop up screen was disconnected?
Would the radio and other functions still work, just not displayed?
Getting sick and tired of the crappy display and thinking of mounting a android tab in there instead.. but I dont want to deal with having to pull the stock radio out and the driving computer is ok too. ;-) Would there be any lights on the dash if I disconnect the screen? Cheers Boy... that terrible, terrible nav... Could have "offline maps", a proper media center and a lap timer on there..

Sorry I can't help w/the question, but I do remember another member on here from Hong Kong who ripped the whole thing out and put a tablet in there. I'd imagine he did an entire rip and replace.
How would you get to the car's computer settings if the OEM nav screen was disconnected? Actually, how do owners without the nav screen access these settings? I can't even change the radio station w/o the screen popping open. |

I hear ya buddy, I don't change the radio station.. Sounds like a cop-out, I know, but it's only my missus who listens to the radio.. I got no idea about the info, like miles per gallon, etc.. It's useless to me anyways, except for the phone connection.. Was just reading up on the pommy guy who as you said, did just that. Looks promising..
