I was thinking of sticking around and giving some e-ticket rides when my wife called at around 12:00. My little 3 year old was wondering "where's daddy?" Probably should have gone home, appease the little one, and come right back. That course was designed for the Z4. Short wheel base with a propensity to rotate under throttle lift AND throttle in oversteer makess dancing through the slaloms a task of finding the right rhythm, and with the right "touch" you can literally navigate the entire course with but a couple of light brushes on the brakes. If I had mastered left foot braking there's a couple of places you should literally be on the brake and on the throttle at the same time. But if you guys really want to get a ride from me, come out to California Speedway and I'll certainly oblige.

It was a pleasure meeting you guys out there, here are some of my pics embarrassingly shot in the wrong settings...I think my brain and hands were still frozen over from being drenched all morning from the "light precipitation" I'm definitely going to be asking david's sister for pointers next time!! LOL couldn't resist and here are the shots that I paid for

They have photos on the Cali Photography website if anyone is interested. I don't really want to pay for photos when people took so many for free but they did get a good mugshot of me:

I've come to the conclusion long time ago that the ONLY way for anyone to actually get good at ANYTHING, is by doing it over and over again. So if anyone of you want to improve and improve fast, get behind the wheel with a good organization as much as you can and get a good instructor/coach in your passenger seat as much as you can.
I would also highly recommend signing up for the June 10th L.A. Chapter school at California Speedway. If you have a convertible, go rent ANYTHING for a day. Heck go rent a Hyundai for a day, it'll still be worth more than nothing.

As for that event, after what Dennis told us about flipping over in a track, I think im just going to get a little more comfortable with good ol K8 and maybe do a track event towards the end of the year...hopefully sooner. Quote:

Nice meeting everybody sunday! What started as a rainy tech and driver meeting, turned into a typical Cali day...Thanks for the headsup L4zy...Also, Roy wins Most Popular award for having like 80 shots on that caliphoto site. I think its the interlagos influence
Scott Edit: I was there, wasnt I? |

Unfortunate, the rules are imposed by National. Any convertible MUST meet a very archane rule involving roll-over protection.
I'd rent something fun like a new Mustang or a 370z or something.

I agree, and those Morrs look great on your car too. I think your VS7's look as big as the 20's I had on my car. I wonder how the 20's would have looked if they didnt have a lip.

I actually ran into traffic on two of my non-timed runs and had to stop completely. The spacing between cars seemed a little off at times throughout the day.
