Wow - with all the editing, it's like coming back to a different thread every day!

Sounds like you've taken the high road following some of the stupid insinuations and derogatory comments thrown this way. This particular car is not for me, but I'm sure it will make someone very happy and I hope it goes to a good home soon - here's a bump for a fellow Canuck ...

Excellent news for both of you!

Both of these nearly exact same cars sold within 2 days of each other. Guess it took two FS to corral some buyers. Perfect timing too for you given your schedule.

Nekky, congratulations! Enjoy!

Thanks guys!

I wanted to take the time to chime in about how great an experience I had with Karim (rabbit69). He was an all around, completely honest, sincere individual who I'm now happy to call a new friend. The car was exactly as represented and yes I feel I got a very good deal. There are a few small (I hope) issues that will be sorted straight away and I'll report back with my impressions.

Again, thanks bro! Karim even went so far as to pick me up from the airport and his generosity most definitely speaks to his character. He is the kind of guy everyone should want to buy a car from.

A happy buyer,
Zac

I appreciate that, Beedub!

I'll post a couple things, but first I want to make it absolutely clear that the seller, rabbit69, was completely honest about everything and is a stand up dude. I genuinely believe that he was not aware as to the severity of what is wrong with the car presently.

I'll keep it short and sweet: backed out + broken cam bolts. VANOS is getting a complete rebuild with every upgraded part from Beisan Systems. Also will be receiving a valve adjustment, fresh oil change, tranny fluid change (notchier than my 07 MC), all gaskets replaced, etc.

We drove (my buddy and I) 30 hours from Montreal to Toronto/Detroit to Chicago to Minneapolis and back across the border to Winnipeg, with broken cam bolts.

I'm just glad we made it back unscathed. To be honest, the car was very good aside from sounding like a diesel at idle sometimes

I got a great deal on the car from a great seller, and I'm not too bent out of shape about the whole thing. I'm just glad nothing else got effed up.

As I said earlier, I'll report back when it's all done!

I'm really hoping that fixing the VANOS issues will help the car to run better, bog less, make more boost, etc.

Regards,
Zac

Ouch...that sucks. The car definelty ran louder than mine when they were side by side, but it was hard to tell if it was just the nature of the supercharger or another issue. Glad you caught what the issue was and fixing it back up though. Maybe get some Schrick cams while ur at it...

nekky, awesome attitude seriously!!! love that.... one of those things.... i think as these cars get on theirs a few essential maintenance items we need to look towards servicing, the rod shells, and the vanos particularly.... cant wait to see more of this car :-) it was one of the first vt2's along with mine and joes.....

good luck and keep us updated!!

It was knocking, yes. It was really hard to tell though to be honest. When it was cold, there was a bit of a consistent knock near the front of the valve cover. That went away within a few minutes, but it still sounded "unhealthy". I was assured the car would make it home, which it did.. barely

Yep.. it sounds like a diesel man. I've been thinking about cams, but the VANOS upgrade/fix is going to be a $2k job that wasn't included as part of the sale I'm hoping Karim will chime in and hook me up for cheap with those extra wheels he has for my troubles

Some Schricks would be nice, and the $1649 price point is attractive, but then that's just for the cams themselves. I'll need another $5-800 in followers and whatever else, plus labour, plus potentially a retune. It's a $3k job no matter which way you look at it. Maybe another time!

Thanks, Beedub! Honestly, getting bent out of shape would do nothing to get the car fixed and quicker or any cheaper. The reason I'm spending the money on upgrading the whole system instead of just replacing the bolts and gaskets and bolting it back together is because I actually do plan on keeping this one. It's quite nice and aside from needing the front bumper resprayed, it shows very well. I want something that will keep me entertained, but primarily keep me from buying a P-car in the next year or two. A supercharged Z4MR fits the bill as far as I'm concerned. After this, it's house time (ok ok, we all know that really means "garage time").

I'll keep everyone posted and post up some pics once it's done. All parts were ordered last night. I just need someone to hook me up with a valve adjustment kit! I have ordered *everything* else except for that.

Thanks!

Sold aready, and it's now in Manitoba, Canada. It's a US car though, so bringing it to Florida would not be a problem.

Everything is always for sale. Message me if you like!

You're the best cheerleader I have right now, bro

Hmm... I'd like to take it to the track, but where I live it is honestly brutal. We have one road course in absolutely PISS POOR condition, and the drag strip is pretty brutal too. I'll make a pass or two though, as long as I'm not scared something is going to break.

I'll take lots of pictures during the rebuild (my cousin is doing it mostly) and be sure to have a photoshoot done once the car is up to my standards.

I want to buy the set of Fabspeed headers that's for sale in the classifieds.. but I'm worried my car won't run properly afterwards, because rabbit69 told me that the kit was for use with stock US headers...?? Anyone know anything about this?

Talk to ESS. I know of multiple people that had issues with non-OEM headers and ESS tunes. Euro headers are the way to go on ESS cars.
