Help! might have fried my radio (UPDATED)

Hey all,

I could use some help.

I was trying to install the OEM ipod adapter kit into my car. For some reason it wouldn't work. I decided to back out and figure it out. However when I reconnected everything as it was and removed the ipod harness my radio won't even turn on now.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the wiring harness? from any year or radio model, just somewhere to start from?

I can confirm it has both +12vdc permanent and switched +12vdc at the proper connections and the ground is intact. Outside of that I'm lost. The radio was not installed at any sensitive point so it is extremely unlikely the head unit is fried.

is there a control module for the radio that I can scan? I have NCS expert and INPA and any software needed.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Did you disconnect the battery before performing the work?
Doesn't the install required rewiring some of the connectors? Was that done correctly?

There are some online schematics here

You should have just went with the Intravee II kit like I suggested, it simply connects it to the CD changer plug.

Problem solved.

Somehow I managed to blow 2 fuses. I disconnected the power but somewhere along the way whether it was hooking things back or whatever I blew the fuses. I have since replaced them, re attempted to install the kit and was completely successful. It required a small coding change to get it working and now it works like a charm. I hooked up an existing bluetooth dongle I had to it and now I have bluetooth audio in my car.

enjoy your intravee kit and I'll enjoy my OEM solution.

That's a weird one, I never heard of fuses blowing with the battery disconnected.

Likely not what happened. I blew them at some point either just before disconnecting the battery or just after reconnecting it.
