2003 Z4 Convertible problem

I have a 03 Z4 with automatic top and having problems with it. The top will not go down and fully open. It will unlocked from the windshield frame but will not do anything after that. One thing I noticed is that the windows dont go down when I try to open the top. I already checked the micro switch and its working perfectly. I also noticed that its very hard to open manually even after I pulled and locked the bowden cable in the trunk. Anybody had the same problem before? Thanks!

Have you tried nudging or lighting pushing the top up while pressing the button? Once you get it to come down, try lubing the pivots with motorcycle chain lube. Did the trick for me. GL!

Fwiw, I usually have to give my top a nudge when opening.....

Someone here mentioned a while back that you can minimize or eliminate that by applying a small amount of grease to the roller / hook mechanism where it engages the roof, above the windshield. There was a particular lubricant mentioned; I don''t recall which one - sorry!
