Business radio Aux is unusable
I've tried multiple aux cables and it's unusable with my phone, scratchy and very low volume. Anything I can do about it from a DIY aspect or should I take it to a car radio shop?

Is your aux-in factory or aftermarket(if your car is a 2007/8 it should be factory). Either way you do not have to remove the dash. There are plenty of guides online to help. Just remove the center vents then the radio to gain access to the plug. There are multiple versions of the plug. You can use the Mini version for the cheapest option(and mount it anywhere you like) or buy one that replaces the ashtray which is pretty slick.

Mine is a 2007 with the aux under the dash above the ash tray. Should I get the aftermarket ash tray Aux and install it?
How exactly can I change the input volume on the head unit? It's not only a volume issue but the connection is scratchy as hell. I emailed Bavsound and they advised to blow some compressed air in there and dip a cable in electrical contact cleaner to maybe break loose some gunk in the jack. They say it's a common issue. |
