Collapsed driver's seat base?

I hope I can explain this right:

The rear-most panel on my driver's seat base feels like it's collapsed over time. Reaching under the seat, I can feel a plastic frame-like piece on the rear of the leather seat panel (under where the seat back and seat base connect). This plastic piece isn't attached to anything under there and just hangs loose (sags, more like). It feels like it should hook up under there somewhere, and if it did, the rear of the seat base would provide more support.

I'm wondering if my seat base is broken, or if the previous owner didn't mod the seat to allow for a taller driver/little more headroom, perhaps (though unlikely).

I'm interested in repairing (if broken), or having an upholstery shop add a chunk of stiff foam to provide a little more butt support (more comparable to the passenger seat).

Anyone notice this with their driver's seat? Anyone else have experience with a fix or modification?

I'll put some pics up for comparison purposes.

Hope these come through OK.

Cell phone pics taken at night... but should help a little to illustrate what I'm talking about.

The four are: passenger seat face, driver's seat face, then two looking under rear of drivers seat.

Perfect! Thank you!

I swear I searched combinations of 'drivers', 'seat', 'sagging', 'base', and 'collapse'. But got nothing.

Very helpful. Thank you!
