265/35/18 front GURUS NEEDED!
Hey guys, I got a set of 18x9.5 +35 squared with 265/35/18 tires on. Fronts rub the shock tower without a spacer. Before I order one, is 5mm enough or 10mm recommended? Eventually im sizing down to 255 squared but the tires on the wheels currently are still good. THANKS!

5mm should be fine. For a 265et35 front, I found that a minimum -2.7 is needed. congrats on the new wheels!

5mm minimum of space between wheel/tire and strut is recommended by Turner when using camber washers.
Do the wheels/tires contact the strut only under load? In other words, is there space between the strut and wheel/tire when parked? If the wheels/tires are in contact with the strut with car parked you're going to need more than 5mm. If you go 10mm make sure it has a hubcentric lip like these. Otherwise, the 5MM should be fine. Max I've found I can get with stock suspension with 2 washers is about -2.6. YMMD, but you may need camber plates to run that wide a tire. Plates would probably omit the need for spacers as well, assuming you removed the camber washers. Camber washers push the bottom of the strut outwards, decreasing the amount of space available between strut and wheel/tire. |

thanks guy! was able to borrow a set of 5mm and a set of 10mm. 10mm looks alot more promising and has more cushion. 5mm looks like it will cut it very close. My ideal setup is 255 squared i need to waste these 265 tires.
