Best Way to Refinish BBK Caliper for Track?
Need to refinish (paint or powder coat) my Stoptech ST40's. First time I took them on track, the calipers "wept" a little and brake fluid got all over the calipers. I'm sure the heat didt help and the calipers were permanently stained. Doesn't bother me that much and I've been driving like this for a year but wondering how I could go about refinishing this if/when I rebuild the calipers. More importantly, which method will hold up better when it comes to high temps, paint or powder coat? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Most people I know have done powder coat.
Superior adhesion. Less chipping, more durable. More uniform application. I have seen some enamel jobs discolour slightly with the heat. That probably varies with paint and color choice though. I don't have anything definitive on temp ratings but I understand that silicone based powder coat is designed for extreme heat.

Sand blast off the finish and run bare.

I know Centric (the parent company of Stoptech) does rebuild and refinish for ST and Brembo brakes.
There is a shop in SO Cal called Road Race Engineering that sends them out to them, or maybe you can figure out how to deal with Centric direct. Here is RRE's number, they can probably help. (562) 777-1522

Old bump but ended up selling the bbk to a member here who requested a custom montego blue color. Result was pretty good if you ask me. Anyone else in need of a good and affordable poweder coat job, reach out to Mike at http://thepowdercoater.com. He was able to source new Stoptech hardware for the rebuild as well.

I honestly don't recall since it was so long ago but I remember being almost half of what others were charging. I would just email Mike, he was really responsive over email.
