My Sparco sidemounts fit up for the Macht Schnell floor mount just fine without the need for sliders. I'm also only 5'8" like you, so that's probably why I didn't run into a lot of issues. My seat's bolsters are kind of wide though. So the doorcard has a groove in it from seat contact. But door can close fully no problem, without deforming the seat.

I've seen the VAC Motorsport floor mounts in person as well, and thry don't have as many hole positioning options as the Macht Schnell, so at least you got the best off the shelf option there seems to be for our cars lol..
Lon's seat install is dope lol. my seat install was a pain in the rear end. multiple purchases through mcmaster car and lowes lol

i wish you the best of luck. remember to disconnect the battery and to not plug it back in until your seat is fully installed and plugged in, otherwise you will have to reset the airbag light

Sorry to bump this...

DSC does the seat foul the door card at the top???? any info would be great :-)
ive just sourced a second hand pear that i simply culdnt refuse :-)

any tips, further info on this path im about to take would be REALLY appreciated!! im going to use the stock seat belts, is this going to be an issue, i.e to they still sit nicely on your upper / lower body ;-)

With a slider, the increased height allows you to clear the trans tunnel and move furthest in (driver side, furthest being to the right towards center console). This will keep you centered with steering wheel and avoid contact with door cards.

Stock seat belts work fine but because the lap belt will go over the seat, it's not very tight. I didn't feel safe on track like that so I purchased a seat belt extender, snaked it through the side hole, and clipped that way. Now it's tight and snug. Everytime I get in, I just have to lift my right butt cheek to get the belt clip around my body and then clip in lol.

See below

Beedub - one other advise, before you bother even bolting the hardware into the floor or onto the seats, first line up the hardware with each other (floor mount to slider, slider to receptacle spacer, receptacle to side mount) and check to see if all the holes line up. If they don't, drill / bore those out first as its much easier to do that way than find out after its too late and everything is bolted on.

DSC that info was invaluable!!!!! thankyou very much bro!! great info on the buckel, i had a feeling you wouldnt feel "safe" by the looseness of it all.

in your opinion would a narrower seat be ideal??? i see recaro do the APEX and the furious, which is basically a narrow body PP.

Glad you found it helpful, I hate being the guinea pig who ends up wasting a lot of hours but at least others can benefit.

I find the Recaro PP to be perfect for my build. I'm 5'9", 38 chest and 165lbs. My torso is slightly on the bigger side so I find the shoulder area to be a little on the narrower side but aside from that it's fine.

Oh yea, I made a separate thread/post but another thing I found VERY helpful was to angle the front of the seat upwards or higher than the rear. When the seat was perfectly level, I found that my back got really tired after a weekend at the track. It's a lot of stress on your lower back to keep your body fully upright, especially during performance driving.

By angling the front of the seat higher, it forces your butt to sit further back and takes the stress off the lumbar area (your lower back is fully flush with the seat and is better supported). Not to mention you're a little more secure under braking. If there's 4 slots on the front of the side mount, I put the front on 2nd highest and rear at the lowest. Ironically you also gain a little headroom this way because the roof curves down towards the windshield. This new seating position puts your head a little further back. Since switching my seat to this position, I did 4 additional track days and not a single day of back pain, it's 10x more comfortable.

How do you like the Jersey red/suede material? Is this color match the imola red OEM interior?

I love it but I think it matches my dream red interior better than imola, which is slightly darker.
