Aux input + Sirius
I have 07 3.0i with aux input and sirius. When plugging in my aux cable, I don't have the option to select it while pressing the mode button. Any ideas? The car is all stock and non DSP

Is it a stock aux input?
I added one to my '06 and it has a little impedance matching dingus in the middle of the cable that I imagine it can see so it knows there's aux available. After adding it, I have the aux selection with my mode button even when the sat radio isn't connected.

same... mine is available without anything being plugged in, so I'm guessing their is an install issue with he Aux port/wiring.

This might not be all that helpful since mine is a pre-facelift car with Nav+DSP, but I had to order an aux cable off the net (12-pin connector IIRC) and as soon as I plugged it in the back of the head unit, hitting MODE suddenly allowed selection of AUX, even with nothing connected. Your mileage may vary, obviously.

So- I checked resistance on the connector. 300k ohm between aux left and right.
All leads from the radio to plug end have continuity. No apparent breaks in the wire. Disconnect battery for 15 mins. Still- pressing mode cycles through CD, Sirius, FM radio....no aux Anyone have anything else to check? |

This was resolved.
Apparently the BMW business radio has issues with forgetting aux settings when the battery goes flat. I connected via a diagnostic cable, opened NCS expert, coded the RAD module to changed aux to active. Previously it was not active, and hence why my aux wouldn't work. Did a bunch of other coding mods while I had it connected....convertible top and windows up/down with key fob, corner light delete, amber light under headlight delete, temp warning and door chime and seat belt alarm delete Hope this helps others in the future |
