Tail Light Tint

So I need a new third brake light and they are like $100, I found the oem clear kit for like $120 which includes clear tails, clear third, and clear side makers. I think the clear third and clear sides will look good, but I dont like the look of the clear tails. Ive considered buying some red tint to cover the lights (make them look like the euro/05 tails) but Im worried that when I hit the brakes they will look pink instead of red.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Maybe replace the bulbs with LEDs?

I ordered from Tischer (still pending, so I have my fingers crossed). Im estimating $120 though, its actually $111, I added $9 for shipping. Just put in PN 63 21 0 151 626.

You list your Z4 as an 07, so the tails wont fit your car. I dont know about the other parts, make sure you double check before you order.

Next sunday I will probably stick the tails on to see how ugly they are before I mess with them. Ive got some red tint on order and some red bulbs, and it will hopefully come out like the gray car above.

You will need to order 2 #1s and 2 #4s. I dont know if BMW sales a side marker kit, but you might be able to pick up an A/M kit cheaper.

They literally take like 20 secs each to change as well.

Well they are almost done, ran out of time, I just have to add the trim piece in the center now.



They also light up red, not pink if anyone was wondering.

I thought facelifted models all got the clear third brake light?

I bought this same set so that I could de-orange my car and replace my cracked third brake light. I haven't done anything with the tail lights though. Right now I have red film over the orange on the current ones, it hides the orange pretty well, but I would like to take the new clear ones and make them look like 2005 taillights, or just get a set of 2005 lights.

Looks good!!! I actually am thinking of doing the same thing. what tint did you use and how hard was it to get the blinker circles correct on the tai lights ?

Sorry all, I've moved and been super busy with a new job and just haven't had much time for car stuff recently. I see I have gotten some PMs on this.

As for getting the blinker circles cut it was not that bad. It just took a steady hand and a razor blade. Once you lay the tint you can see the circle through it and then you start cutting.
