Pushing the envelope with Hyperblack CSLs
BimmerZealot called it on another forum already... these are approaching the limits of reason for aggressive fitments.
18x8.5 +40 up front, 18x9.5 +22 in the back. Some of you guys putting M wheels on standard Z's inspired me to get a little crazy. I'm not 100% happy with it, but these will be my summer wheels this year. They do fit within the wheel wells, but next time I think I might go with a little higher offset, just for my personal preferences. Tires are Pilot Sports, 235 / 255. Almost surprisingly, no rubbing yet, even over speed bumps. |

looks gooa. I was torn between hyperblacks and regualr silver but it seems that im going with the standard silver. How does the car feel now with bettwer grip? They look almost like plantirion RGRs

The grip is night and day. I have never had max performance summer tires before, and I need to get used to it! The slip point is so much stiffer in these. I turned DSC off to oversteer some big corners and I swear I almost lost it in the first one. You can see I like to shoot in a big empty parking lot by me, it makes a good private test track. Anyway, when they regain grip, it is sudden, so much so that the first time I actually lost the rear out in the other direction after over-correcting the slide. With DTC on, the car understeers as it does with the stock equipment, but with a higher grip limit. I'm liking it a lot but it proves I need to work on my driver mod a bit more!

yea high perfomance tires like pilot sports do require a lot more driver involvment. I think the 18s are perfect. Are you going to do suspension?

I've had coilovers on my last 2 cars, but this one I think I might actually leave alone. The sport suspension is stiff enough for casual performance driving, but I need to keep it in daily duty mode, so no stiff coil or cups for me. I'm not interested in lowering it purely for cosmetic reasons, and frankly with this little tire gap and flush wheels I actually like the look as-is.
In other news, I hit some corners this morning, and they did what my local speed bumps didn't... fender rub. At least it was liner rub and not the finished outside. For now I'm going to look into tucking the plastic liner a bit, I don't want to roll these anymore than they already are. I think I might look into swapping out for higher offset rears. Unfortunately they are on backorder at the moment. |

Look nice, those rears look pretty huge. I am debating between hyper black and matte black...

Looks very nice.
I bet it looks much better in person. Pictures never get all the details. Where and how much. I want these wheels in this color for my Coupe. I don't want to go to 19's. |

You can get them from EAS, but you'll have to order them. Do yourself a favor and order +45 rears. Or buy mine, I think I'm going to swap them out.

I wont be purchasing for a few months still.
But I will contact you first in case you still have them. I also need to educate myself on the z4 M Coupe off-sets. |

If you have an MCoupe you dont want the +40 and +45 offset you want the more aggressive +20 and +22 I think it is, it will fit on the MCoupe.

Rear camber looks a bit much... That's gonna make the inside of your tires wear out prematurely.
I was never a fan of stretching tires either. I'm running 235 on 18x8 and 255 on 18x9.

How do you rotate staggered tires? Do you actually dismount and re-mount on the opposite side wheel (front to front and rear to rear)? That's the only way I could see to mitigate inner tread wear.

Looks really good and I love the HyperBlack on the silver Z!
I'd like to see better pictures as the sunny day overwhelms the darker parts of the picture.
