Z4 M Coupe on Carmax

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
No idea about the history nor am i connected in anyway to this car. However, I figured if someone was looking for a Z4MC one just popped up on CarMax less than 50k miles from the southeast and going for $35K. Potentially a good opportunity if someone wanted a M Coupe with some good aftermarket warranty. White with red interior and carbon fiber leather.

I think you'll like this 2008 BMW Z4 M I found at CarMax!

https://www.carmax.com/cars/BMW/Z4/2008/12830279

Happy hunting.

Wow...these cars haven't really depreciated that much. I saw a similar car (Alpine with Imola & carbon) with more features (premium package & NAV) 6 years ago with 28K miles on it - guess what was its priced? That's right - $35K! And I thought it was expensive back then

I wonder if that's just vinyl on the roof.

Sorry, it originated from the Southeast, but now is in Cali. Be careful you can easily get it transfered to a store near you now. Just for a quick look of course.

Within my search range, but too far for me to verify the roof.

How far off is imola red from dream red? I've got M-sport seats in dream red in my Z4. It came from a Z4 Coupe. If I got this, I'd definitely would want to swap seats. Riding in my friend's Jaguar F-Type wants me to get car with more power.

Dream red is a bit brighter red and imola is darker. I prefer imola because it's toned down a little. I had a 3.0si with dream red. However I prefer the non-m sports seat style. They have accent stitching that the M seats do not, and I think it looks much more quality. The stitching ties in with the stitching on the door panels. The M seats have the "m" embossed on the head rest, which is kind of cool though.

So you have three styles of seats: the M sport seats, the non-M sports seats, and the standard seat.

I think this car is way over priced. Cars with this mileage have been going for about $28k. There are two on auto trader at that price right now (although both are sold).

I agree that it is slightly overpriced but I def would like to take a look at it and see if they will negotiate any. I requested a transfer to the CarMax down the street from me hopefully they will send it up without a fee.

Let us know if you have any luck with negotiating. My experience is that CarMax doesn't negotiate.

I checked it out today. The top is a vinyl wrap. Decent condition overall. I noticed a small dent in the drivers side front fender. Can be pulled out without paint I'm sure.

I think it is the color combo that allows for the higher price, I would almost say that is the one of the most desired color combos (but I am also biased).

Hmmm that little gopro mount on the dash and the ram air makes me think this car may have been a track car (or at least driven decently hard) at one point. This why I don't like buying from dealers, you miss out on a lot of the history... would be neat if PO finds this thread and chimes in, now that it's out of his hands. That said, one of my favorite color combos (after TiAg/Imola, of course) and those manual seats!

Thanks for posting pictures, SDCoupe! Did they let you test drive it?

Heh. Interesting to hear that people crave manual seats. The first Z4C I looked at had them (as did my STi). I rather prefer the power, in particular that it is micro-adjustable. Although I see folks' point that the manual seats are simpler and lighter.

It was on my hit list when I was looking as well.

One thing to keep in mind though, for those that need max headroom, the power seats will go considerably lower than manual seats.

Oh wow, never knew that, that just might be the make or break factor for me...

On CarMax? Not really. Car was probably sold to CarMax by someone desperate to get out of the MZ4 Coupe for about $22K. CarMax throws $12K-13K on top of what they paid for. Standard operating procedure, IMO. The reason it's listed for $35K is because low-end Manheim/Black Book value on it is around $20-22K.

CarMax values the car by the "books." A reasonable private seller could probably get about $30-32K in a private party sale on this car, depending on 1) seller's patience and 2) car's condition.

Looks like the car is no longer available. Either someone has bought it or it has been transferred. Hopefully someone on here is making the move.

The '07 3.0si coupe is still available in Roseville though.

All the manual seats I've seen in cars also don't come with heated seats or cruise control. Which I must admit, i think I would miss cruise control on some longer drives. But it wouldn't keep me from buying the right car.
