I have had mine since V3 software. I am currently running V7 with Ford, Chevy and BMW extended codes. Have not upgraded to the latest.
I am beginning to believe there are cheaper alternatives out there. |

Im a little confused. I have a cheap little 50 dollar code read I bought to read DTCs for my old 03 Z4 2.5i. Then, I would just check code deffinitions online and use it to turn off the SES. Havent had to use it on the 08 M yet... Does the 08 need a CAN compatible scanner to read and erase DTCs?

Question for you... You using the PA-soft knock off on the E86 Z4? Just want to confirm, as I see it advertise up through 2004 model years and suggests later models aren't supported. If I'm looking at the wrong thing, could someone PM me a proper link? |

It's the 1.4.0 version. Like I said earlier, this isn't a full coding system like a cheap head plus downloaded software unit, but you don't have to perform registry hacks or spend hours and hours to get it up and running. You can read and clear fault codes, make changes in modules, add or delete keys, and so on. PM sent.

Reset Airbag fault
I'm after an ODB-II scanner that can reset an airbag fault on my 2005 Z4. Do any of you guys know or have one of these devices. I just want to check that it's a genuine fault or if it was due to an intermittent connector. If anyone is local to SF Bay Area and would kindly help me with this I'd appreciate it. Otherwise if any of you can recommend a scanner that is both compatible with a Z4 and generic ODB-II interfaces (I want it for my Chevy too) please let me know.
TIA. |

I've also got the EBay ELM Bluetooth dongle with the android app revs, works great no lag here and reads /resets all codes (don't think it does airbag, think you need a laptop for that with USB/wifi dongle) but yeah, for what it is (cheap china crap) it works great. Also reads all the info out of my jeep too
