WOW. I'm glad that both of you are alive. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your friend. As for the car, it's sad to see it gone this way, but it's just a car in the end of the day.

Hope all goes well!!!
On a side note, any possibility of getting pictures of your car? I'm curious to see how the coupe holds up to that type of impact.

That's awful, but glad that it wasn't worse. A testament to the structural soundness of our cars. Hope your friend has a speedy recovery.

Car's can be replaced, people can't. Sorry to hear the car is a write-off but better the car take that hit then you and your friend. Hope you two have a speedy recovery!

I wish both you and your friend a speedy recovery. I cannot imagine how you feel--but I know this is probably the most difficult thing you've faced in your life. My thoughts are with you as well as your friend.
I think this is a particularly dangerous this time of year. We've had a lot of heavy rain here in CA with lots of heavy runoff and erosion that leaves a lot of dirt/debris on the road. When it's wet we all run very very slowly as a matter of course. But then the sun comes out and it's dry and the roads seem fine and we're back to regular speeds. But the problem is that roads have that layer of silt/sand/dirt and it's just as dangerous or more so than when wet. The silt/sand/dirt usually piles up in patches (inconsistent). So the road looks fine and then there's this patch--traction is easy to lose hitting this stuff. I don't know if that's what happened here, but I've noticed this on back roads in my neck of the woods and it's a major hazard. In any case watch out for these conditions. SSKE92--again, my best wishes and thoughts go out to your friend and you. Last edited by Finnegan; 04-04-2011 at 06:16 PM.. Reason: spelling |
