Looking for feedback on status Gruppe engine cover

Anyone have one of these? If so how's the fitment and quality? My quick search couldn't find any reviews on this forum

I have it but fitment is not good. The holes for the chrome nuts are a bit off and causes a wave like effect on the upper edge of the engine cover.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to think twice about buying one now. $220 for something that is purely cosmetic and doesn't fit right doesn't seem like a good investment. Maybe I'll give them a call to see if they have address any fitment issues.

Well, not really that happy hearing this as I am awaiting shipment of one that I ordered weeks ago. After this long a wait I am hoping that it fits properly. Hopefully they have addressed any fitment issues.

If you could report back how your's fit it would be greatly appreciated. Could influence whether I pick up one or not.

Subscribed, I was about to pull the trigger on one of these, as well.

I bought a CF valve cover from eBay and mine did not fit out of the box either. But it only required minor dremel work to get it to line up right. After 6 months of use, it still looks amazing and there's no "wave" effect that I can tell (maybe I'm just not scrutinizing enough?). I would not hesitate to buy another, I really like the look. I paid $75 (I made an offer on the $125 BIN price) + shipping + emblems.

Nice, got a link or name of the seller? I'd be interested. For $75 I could live with having to do a little adjustment

You can get it cheaper.... I have one as well, different manufacturer (link below), and had to slightly dremel one of the holes too. Easy fix and fits like a glove now. It would be nice if it fit out of the box but it's not a deal breaker in my book. No issues with the CF weave itself.

Wasn't even thinking about said manufacturer some reason. I do like the deck lid spoiler i purchased from them. How long did it take for them to get it to you? It took like 10 weeks to get my spoiler

I have the same one...same experience. No issues after installation. Been on my car for about two years. It only took a few weeks to arrive.

I don't remember how long it took, but I would have remembered if it took an obscene amount of time like 10 weeks!

I've had their spoiler for over three years now. No fitment issues, and the weave was perfect. The clear has held up well, but my car stays in the garage when not in use, so I can't comment about how well it holds up against UV damage over time.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been going back and forth about whether to get their spoiler and how I would attach it. I've seen some attached it with double sided tape that leaves a horrible gap, but i don't want to deal with the nasty beta link, which I think attaches flush?

I've been eyeing their engine cover as well

I had the same struggle when deciding how to attach my spoiler, as well. I ended up using a trimmed line of 3M automotive adhesive tape along the outside edge where it will meet the deck (you'll see what I mean when you get yours.) After setting the spoiler with the tape, I then sealed off the edges with a bead of black GE silicone II, which is much less messy and difficult than the betalink. The install ended up looking very clean, and if I had to do it again, I'd do it the same way.

After 8 weeks finally received the cover, and of course it has the same fitment issues as previously reported. All I can say is what a waste of time and money. I am positive these are all coming from the same factory somewhere in Asia. The particularly vexing thing is that SG told me that the wait was due to them "making it". I call BS and say they were simply waiting on it to be delivered to them from whoever it is in Asia that's pumping them out. The communication from SG was poor and if I hadn't spent so much on shipping(SG rip off) as well as getting stung for an additional $50 in brokerage and what the cost of shipping it back will be, I would have it on its way back straight away. I guess I will try the dremel to fit routine and see how it looks, if not it's going where it really belongs...in the bin. Should have asked the same question as the OP, stupid me.

So after my rant I would say don't bother with these, and if you can't resist then just get one off eBay as it will be the same quality as this and cost a lot less. DON'T deal with SG on it.
