IMHO I think Lambo lost the plot after they did the original Miura.
Arguably the most beautiful car ever built

This one could be the first Lambo in a long time of which I have not immediately hated the looks.

My first question is why? They have two sports cars already. I think they're due for an LM002 revival which would probably be very profitable for the brand.

Lots of Ford GT in profile view, at least in the silhouette from the mid-section up. Rakish A-pillar, forward peak, super long fast roofline.

I'm actually loving all these hybrid super/hyper cars for the simple fact that it helps BMW with their BMW i program. BMW knows even if they were to build something of that calibre, it'll fail to shine in the group of Ferrari, Lambourghini, Porsche & McLaren. Instead, they build something similar that's a lot more accessible to a lot more people.
It's exciting to know BMW had this vision years ago where people mocked them, now BMW i is in the front with this type of car and technology. Sure Mercedes and Audi have their SLS's and R8's which are fine cars but the current trend aren't pointing at them, it's about carbon fibre and hybrid technology. |

Hum, actually not. That was Toyota with the FT-HS (Hybrid Supra) and Honda with the HSX, and now NSX II. The NSX II will run circles around the i8, and not cost more. |

Actually not. The i8 is for sale and on the road currently. The same can not be said for the two you claim beat BMW to the party. Try again.

i8, because BMW just cannot allow itself to bring an SLS or R8 rival so late. Would be "me too", and BMW is way too arrogant.

I'm not saying the i8 is the greatest hybrid sports car for $100k, but being the first to have a product available is significant and BMW will have a clear advantage. |

Alfa Romeo 4C, first CF car for under 60.000 €, before i3 was on sale. Toyota Prius, first hybrid on market, but yet leader? Soon Toyota with first fuel-cell vehicle on the market? But any future for such tech? (IMO yes). What about BMW's AMG GT and R8 answer? The i8 is not an answer, just an excuse, and a really good one. |

Why do they have to have an answer to the AMG GT and R8? Those are fairly old school on the tech side while the i8 is a glimpse of the future. If I were you, I would be scratching my head wondering why Mercedes and Audi aren't coming up with an answer for the i8.

I'm not sure it matters if any car is faster than the i8, the goal for that car isn't outright performance. |
