GO Black? OR Polished? Picture Request
You know what they say if you go Black you never go back...! LOL J/k Its not a secret that if you have been reading my recent post I will be getting an 06 Z4M coupe in Titanium Silver. Obviously I will now look at it as a blank canvas and therefore it will be in my nature to start changing things... My First planned MOD will just be wheels and suspension. I'm going to just go with the H&R sport springs but I need to figure out what to do on wheels. BBS LMS would be my first choice but they are too $$$ for my blood. I am looking at the alternative Vortex Leman, or Linea Corse Leman, or go with the VMR CSL Reps, but my main question is to go Black or More on the Polished/ Gun Metal Side? If I go Black I will also wrap the front & rear fascia and the roof.
Can anyone post any pics of a TS z4m coupe with aftermarket wheels? Also tell me what you think? Black? Polished? Gunmetal? I am trying to stay under 2500 for wheels and tires, I am wanting to go with 19's. Although handling is important I may never track the car so there will be no need to go for a set of wheels that will be better on a track. Here is a picture of what I would ultimately want but I also like black wheels... |

I am not a BBS fan at all. I would lean towards a gunmetal or black wheel. Volk, ADVAN, or Work is the way I would go. I would go with a used set too. Thats just me. Silver has been played out since the dawn of time. Black is not really played out. Darker colored wheels have always looked cleaner IMO.

Eh I'm generally not a fan of anything but silver wheels, maybe a light gunmetal. To me, black wheels scream aftermarket which I don't like. The pic posted above looks incredible though.

Black is really played out in my opinion. Looks great on some cars with lots of mods... but on a stock car it just looks silly / boy racer ish imo.
I have "hyperblack" RGRs which I like since they aren't completely black looking - not a bad middle ground perhaps.

These are some wheels that I've rocked in the last year or so... I have a couple of pictures with other wheels that I haven't uploaded online such as apex arc-8 anthracite finish, Morr VS7, and my Work Meister S1 (which I believe you can do a little research and find other members in this forum that also rock them).

Probably not what you want, but since I have a TiAg with OZ Ultraleggera I thought I would throw them up for you. And they do come in black. And I have 313 on my TiAg 335i in my sig pic. Happy to post a larger pic if you would like.

Black = Track look (black doesn't show brake dust for those of us who run agressive pads, don't feel like washing her between track days, etc). If you're not planning on tracking the car, go with a silver or gunmetal set of wheels for the car.

^WHS, black is a motorsport look, the rest of the car has to match.

I love the look of a dark gunmetal wheel against TiAg. I think it stands out a little more than silver on silver. Wheel design has an effect too. Here were my gm CSL reps and current RS-GTs in 'diamond black'. I'm thinking about having the centers refinished in a straight gunmetal.

Black is overdone. It makes the wheels completely disappear. Gunmetal would look GREAT on that car. But really, anything but black.
Black wheels look like you're a ricer driving with your hubcaps off. |
