40 psi all around
running on stock 18s, I decided to try 40psi all around. I understand potential tire wear issues, and I'm ok with that.
What I've found was that my front end has significantly more grip in tight corners. In fact, I've taken some highway ramps with decreasing radius turns that used to turn on my traction control on, but now the car deals with it just fine. Ride is a bit more harsh, and I haven't seen significant gains in mileage YET, but I'd say its definately worth it. |

I use 35/30 because of longevity.
The Z4 3.0 sport has built in understeer that is difficult/impossible to eliminate with tire pressure adjustment only. If you're driving fast enough on the street to have understeer/oversteer issues, an excellent fix would be to SLOW DOWN. |

Yeah, why are you driving your sports car like a...sports car?
dereksabolracing, your car has arrived: :P Seriously though, 40psi is fine when the tires are hot, but I wouldn't go over that. You'd be surprised how warm your tires can get just driving on the freeway and how much pressures can increase as a result.

We'll be there both days; I'll be driving in TTD class and my Dad will be driving in HPDE3. Photos of the car (a LOWLY, 2005 Z4 3.0 sport) are in the photos category under official yellow thread.
Don't forget to bring the pink slip for my new gold Toyota or, if you don't have it, I'll settle for the "M". P.S. You do realize it's not this weekend but the weekend of the 8-9th with NASA? |
