APEX ARC-8 and TPMS

Has anyone who has bought these wheels just switched their TPMS sensors from their old stock rims?
I've done so on a new set, but my metal valve stem is sticking out like four 3" erections. With cap, they stick out farther than the rim themselves (unsafe, unsightly). I believe I need to order shorter ones - pics to follow.

Has anyone else experienced this? The stock ones seem to be waaaay too long, and shouldn't be utilized. Heads up for people on the group buys who think they can re-use theirs.

Really wish the mounter would have f%$king told me about that before road-force balancing them.

Anyone have a correct part # on shorter versions? Thanks in advance.

I sourced out part # 36 11 1095 375. They're shorter and should do the trick (according to the parts guy @ BMW Seattle). But that's at his best guess he said. --> ? <--

They're in and work fine. However, 3 of them (ordered from the dealer) were missing a small rubber washer and needed to be fab'd. Infuriating that this was the case. New part #36146792829 apparently. You may want to just order from Beru.

Looking good!

I bought an extra set for my ARC-8s but they are shorter than yours. Strange.

this missing part thing got me as well when switching over to the cs.16's and was seriously frustrating me until i talked with one of the techs at BMW. the 36146792829 stem does not need any fabrication. the new design has a thicker seal on the stem that goes through the wheel, and the included nut squeezes and self threads over this seal. a bit more torque is required to get them started over the seal in comparison to the older 36111095375. or simply...

the 1095375 had a washer built onto the nut that allowed tightening up against the wheel surface. the 6792829 uses the larger stem seal to perform the same function.

happy

Here's a good reference with part numbers for valve stems of varying lengths.

http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461621

One thing to keep in mind is that if your stem sticks out beyond the lip of your wheel, you could potentially break it off on a curb. :-(

I think that's the first time I've seen ACS sides on a real member's car, ie not a rendering or some advertisement. I Likey.

I thought the same thing. I tend not to like ACS stuff too much since a lot of it is such an extreme change but those skirts look good!
