Oil leak, Head Gasket?

Installed euro headers and cats over the weekend and noticed an oil leak.

What do you guys think?

If its a slow oil leak, it can be the all common, oil pump gasket leak. easy fix - just time consuming to get to the part.

Your Constant Pressure Valve (CPV) is in that area. It's a pretty common leak after the Buna-N o-ring gets brittle. If oil is leaking down between the engine and transmission that's probably it. Do a google search or look on M3Forum for some fixes. With the headers removed, replacing the o-ring would be simple. I would try to get a hold of a Viton o-ring to replace it though.

Initially I was also gonna suggest the CPV, however you can see it in the pic and its not leaking.

I thought that threaded hole in the block was for the CPV but wanted to mention it anyway.

OP, it could also be valve cover gasket or oil return pipe that connects to the valve cover. Make sure both copper crush washers are between the banjo bolt.

Is there any oil above where the headers mount? Any coming from under the top plastic cover?

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but, can people who have no idea what they are looking at not chime in so confidently? It's definitely neither of these.

From the looks of the picture it's more likely a valve cover gasket leak, but it's not that easy to tell from a picture.

Is the head oily at all, above the exhaust ports? Might help to determine if it's the valve cover gasket or not.

Dropped the car off at the Crevier BMW to have the oil leak looked at. They were unable to source it so they cleaned the motor and drove it for a couple of miles. Their conclusion is that there is no leak but informed me that I should keep an eye on it. If it resurfaces I should bring it back. I sure hope it doesn't.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

On a side note, the euro headers and cats are amazing. My only complaint is that with my RE Diablos, the setup is a little loud. I hope to get used to the decibel increase otherwise might have to find a different set of cans.
