Continental ExtremeContact DWs?
Guys,
I'm dumping my run-flats. I'm probably gonna be purchasing a set of OEM 203's soon. I'll be going with a squared set (18x8). I'm not an aggressive driver and I only pull it out of the garage when it's sunny. So I gotta find some tires. Are the Continental ExtremeContact DW's a good tire? Also, 225/40ZR18 would be the right size correct? I'm gonna pick up a ContiComfortKit to put in the trunk. Thanks, Last edited by SimpleMan; 05-18-2013 at 06:37 PM.. |

Well yea, and I was saying the DWS was good, I would imagine that the DW would be just as good if not better because it's not as focused on the colder temps.

I just put the DW on my 328i, replacing the OEM runflats. I am not an experienced track guy, but for city and highway driving, I am very pleased so far. I have only had them on for a week and a half, so I cant comment on tread life. Grip, cornering and noise have all improved.

For the small price difference I would suggest the Michelin PSS. I priced them against the DWs through most installers and they were not that much more. And you get a lot of tire for your money.
However, I did have the DWS and thought they were fantastic for all weather driving. Even went through some nasty Chicago winters with them and they worked flawlessly. |

I've been running the DW's for two summer seasons in the NorthEast and am very satisfied with them as a street tire, particularly if your road conditions are less than stellar. I don't doubt the PSS's are a better performing tire, but they'll also rock your wallet for over 30% more $$
