Phasing out RFT's
Can I run RFT's on the front or rear and non-RFT's on the opposite axle? I'm trying to phase them out but one set is like new and the other has 35K miles on them. The roads up here (NH) are rough with RFT's.
Thanks! |

I think you can do it but it certainly isn't advisable to have RFTs on one axle and not the other. I think this has probably been covered in another thread or two somewhere and that may be the reason for not getting a response.

i had RFT up front and non-RFT in the rear for about 10 months before I switched out all 4 for same brand non-RFT's.
It can be done...But the ride got MUCH improved once all 4 tires matched...

Same thing goes for my brakes. I'd love to get akebono pads but my brakes work fine.

These are too nice of a car to make that much of a compromise, just to try and squeeze a few extra dollars worth out of tires you don't like ... |

I had perfectly good RTFs that I got rid of in favor of non. Stinks to get rid of perfectly usable tires, but you will love the car so much more once you've switched. It's worth the extra money spent.
