i got the bulbs, will take night shot... they look really bright but since they reflect back to the reflector, not sure if the beam pattern is good.. all else fails, ill put this on my rx with reverse camera, it should be easier to use on that if its not bright enough..

my other option would be from vleds using smd, i like their bulbs, its usually very bright for me

Here's my pic (apologies from a camera phone). As you can see its bright as $#IT those R5 CREE LEDs. Hard to get a good photo without it flooding out the photo! Looks way better in person! Its a true white and looks great on the facelifted tails! LOVE THEM!

I agree with you they are bright, but do you find they light up the actual space behind the car very well? I find them to work less than the standard halogens in this regard. Meaning people will see my car backup from a mile away, as they are intense, but they don't actually brighten up the space very well behind the car.

I've tested quite a few bulbs, and these are by far the best for brightness and visibility. Lets be honest here our cars aren't too easy to see when backing up. But I can honestly say that I can see clearly when backing up now with these! I love them and plan to keep them! The problem with the other bulbs out there is that its omni directional. These ones point straight back which is what we need for the way our taillights are designed! Just my 2 cents!

I put these 68 SMD bulbs (http://www.ebay.com/itm/181071725417...S:3160&vxp=mtr) in today. They look great but I am getting the bulb out error... I won't be keeping them in. What are folks using that doesn't cause the error?

I love the crees.. pics are 800x600

Day shot + night shot. I only change driver side so we can compare, gonna test the other bulb in my rx450 and see if its better

Day shot 50/50

Night shot 50/50

Driveway unlit

Driveway lit 50/50 - notice the pattern, the halogen bulb is no where to be seen, if you look left of the gutter, thats where the halogen bulb is pointing

50/50 from passenger side

50/50 of what you see on the floor

50/50 of what you see from driver seat

So i'm not 100% satisfy with the cree, I found these. So these will fire off a few led into the reflector.. maybe ill get some extra lights out of it.

http://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Replac.../dp/B00JK020H2

Since car is still garaged, I'll have time to look at this

What are the lights you used for the photo's? They look excellent to me. I would like to get some(or buy your old ones if you like the new ones you are ordering better).

It seems like these would do what you want with the reflectors: http://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbe...79-1-pair.html

Off ebay, look for r5 t10 cree.. they are definitely better but I think by not using the reflector, it doesn't project the light in the area that you need

I gotta check these.. according to the website, its 500 lumens, a lot of the sites do not have real info.. I order from vled before, their bulbs are very bright.

I'll need to measure and see if its longer or shorter than the ebay crees

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was looking for some reverse leds and a lot of the links in this one are no longer available.

Does anyone know if these will be decent? I was trying to look for some that fire straight backwards like others said in here

Those look pretty good. I think I have 30W and they're darn bright.

I had those, fairly useless... it puts the lights in the wrong place... not focus, too spread out..

I end up getting this, I think the old link I posted before went bad, I did not install it but one of these weekends.

That looks great, but how would you get the wire into the cabin without drilling into the bodywork?
