INPA - ifh-0009 no response from control unit HELP!

Hello,

I have installed everything correctly and INPA recognizes when I turn on/off the car (Ignition bubble fills up and empties).

But, NCSExpert spits out IFH-0009 when I try to connect and INPA stops communicating with the car.

The light on the cable turns off as SOON as I ask NCSExpert to read from the ECU.

This is for my 2004 BMW Z4

Do I need to bridge pins?

Can someone please help?

I have a similar cable and I needed to bridge the pins 7 and 8. You can always solder a switch if you're concerned about "permanently" bridging the pins.

I bridged pins 7 and 8 on my cable (verified to be from a reliable source) and still having this problem - except on mine, INPA won't even recognize battery or ignition. Any thoughts?

Thank you koruptor. I've wire soldered the pins (taking apart the shroud, and will splice in a switch later) but it still doesn't work...

Swiss Army - is your ECU stock? I've got an ESS tune which I suspect may have 'locked' me out - need to contact them and see if that's the case. But you and I are having the same problem, except in my case, INPA won't even detect battery/ignition on.

Stock ECU, I'm going to try it out again this week and report what exactly happens.

Sounds good. I'll give it another go in a few days with and without the pins bridged and report back as well.

INPA Z4 issue

Did you find a solution? I have the same problem. I have the EPS light on and trying to clear it through INPA.

My issue ended up being a bad software install. I got it sorted once I did the software correctly.
