Drives: aw a4mc & 335i conv.

advice: so i took out this filter

as stated i have the rpi scop and bmc drop in.. i went to clean it today and noticed another filter mounted on top of the inner airbox... do i remove that or not????? its the filter that is inside the airbox and wen u close it, it sits right on top of the drop in... any advice wood be appreciated

Most remove it.

It's an emission filter to catch fuel vapors after the engine shuts off. I think most of left the filter alone since there's no power to be gained by removing it.

Dyno plots do show a slight increase with the filter removed.

you get about 1~1.5hp with the charcoal filter removed, and I really doubt you can feel it.

Who cares, I have GruppeM/RPI intake, and it's definitely better than the stock air box.

i dont feel like spending a ton on intake mods

If your Z4MC is still under factory warranty then my advice is don't remove the filter per SIB 12 12 07

The carbon filter is safe to remove.

Yes. I removed mine on the first day of ownership and there are absolutely no issues other than a slight increase in throttle response.
