Lightweight Flywheel?

Gday all,

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the lightweight flywheels, are they a worthwhile investment?

cheers

Hey Vanne, check out pokeys posts. He has a LWF on his non M. Different set up but likely similar experience.

Not in this car, but went with one in the last car when upgrading the clutch to stage 2.

They "chatter" a lot. It can get really annoying and embarrasing if you like to have a car that sounds good and put together.

If you're focus is a drivers car or track car and noise or rattle doesn't bother you then you will love it. It makes a motor rev rise and drop so much quicker, making for such a great feel and personality to the motor.

UUC makes a really solid couple of options Vanne, when I got to drive mine it was a blast in feel. Very different, especially between Kevlar clutch and the flywheel. They don't lie though, they do rattle. However with your tune from Randy you can just raise the idle up and it will solve the problem. I needed to set mine right around 850 and it was just as quiet as stock. You already have the other tools to complete this mod, it just depends on how far you'd like to take it and if you can get by with a higher idle.
