resonators removed
Gents,
I hope i'm right on this matter. The aftermarket xpipes just remove the resonators. Soo I went to an exhaust shop and they cut them out and put in straight pipes. 125.00 vs. 550.oo plus. Cold, it sounds raspy. When warmed up sounds just a tad deeper and very nice. Was this a good choice vs. custom xpipes? TY. |

do the straight pipes intersect like an X?
Custom almost always cheaper for exhaust, just not as pretty unless you pony up. I don't want to increase rasp, so I'm leaving mine alone

no, they were removed before the x-crossing but my understanding is that's what the xpipe does when replaced. It only has a touch of rasp when its cold but goes away and is replaced with a clean slightly lower growl. I thought it was remarkable the difference in sound from cold to warm.
The 450 I saved is half the cost of a new exhaust system. |
