Exhaust and seal rings question
When installing new mufflers, MUST one use new seal rings? If the old rings look like they are in great shape, can you just re-use them, or will that create small leaks, because they've been "shaped" over time in the old exhaust flange...?
Thanks |

i re-used the 'seal' ring and tightened the bolts securing the two flanges according to desired muffler positioning. no leaks whatsoever and about 6,000 miles now and no re-tightening of any bolts of any kind needed.

Does anyone have "before and after" pictures of the exhaust flanges? I can't be positive, but I'd swear my flanges were completely flush with the stock exhaust, and now there's about a quarter inch gap after installing the Stromung. Almost as if the Stromung feed tube doesn't quite fit the seal ring perfectly.
If anybody has those sorts of pics, I'd love to see. |
