New top won't work!

Kind of a long story sorry

Last year I started having problem with the top. First it got slow, then it would only open half way and had to be fully lowered manually. BMW dealerships gave me conflicting diagnosis (broke bolt, hydraulic problem, etc) and wouldn't do the work under CPO warranty. The last one (Bev Hills BMW) managed to completely render it useless. Before I took it in, it'd unlatch and open half-way but after I got it back it'd do nothing, with the orange light flashing when the open button was pressed.

Sooo I got a used top, complete assembly and installed it today. This time the top closes perfectly fine and all the motors work but still won't open. I get the same blinking orange light when I press the open button! I guess this is due to whatever they did to the car at BH BMW. What could be the cause of this? I have checked the trunk switch already and up or down position doesn't make a difference.
