Section 1 catless - shopping list help
I want to order all the pieces in one shot, am I missing anything?
2x Ar20 resonators 2x 90* 02 bungs 1x normal 02 bung with cap, for future A/F gauge 1x egt bung I'd also like to buy the flanges and appropriate gaskets, anyone know which ones I need? The rear o2 sensors might be turned off on the VT2-500 kit, maybe I'm wasting time with the $27 90* bungs

For your o2 sensors, you can check Vibrant:
http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...Path=1022_1069 If you need an EGT bung, I have 10 at home. I am selling them $40 shipped each. |

same interior dimensions, easier to install. How did your sound change when you replaced your stock section 1?

I honestly don't remember exactly how it changed. Probably just louder and the resonators took care of any rasp. It does smell terrible without cats though.

hmmm. I guess I'll give it a try, and if the smell is too bad, just re-sell them

I accidentally found out that you can go with a Magnaflow 10445 which is a bit more expensive, but its also 20" long and reduces a lot more rasp and is quieter. I'm wondering if its too long for our cars...

I'm gonna get under my car tomorrow and see if Magnaflow 10445 will fit. I'd prefer them if they're quieter. Its a sleeper after all

Dave is using a single, rather large Ar resonator (cant remember which one) in his single S pipe setup. The volume is certainly there, but overall it had far less drone and less rasp than my euro sec 1+ rpi setup.
I would expect the volume to be WAY passed sleeper levers. I would bet it will sound FAR more motorsport like but with less drone than other options. Just based on my experiences of course. Please keep us updated on this as it develops. Im looking at doing the same thing with my setup but i havent heard anything definitive as far as whether the resonators will both fit. |

I guess I should have measured first, lol. I'm an impulse buyer. I'm gonna get a better picture about clearance when I hold it up to the stock exhaust anyway

Got all the pieces, the magnaflows are just as long as the OEM section 1 cats, so they should be able to fit without too drastic of an angle in the piping. Hope the exhaust shop has room in their schedule tomorrow

If you dont mind me asking, about how much was the bill on that setup? When you test it out, please fill us in on any updates with performance/sound good or bad. |

Pricing was reasonable, but it cost me a hacked up stock section one which I could have sold for $700 I've ran the car hard, and I feel a nice torque bump above 3000rpm. The car is more fun to drive when on partial throttle at low boost. Sound hardly changed, it didn't get deeper, and there's almost no rasp, just slightly louder at full throttle. I'll record clips If I can find some reasonably priced flanges, the exhaust guy said he can put together a few of these for around $500, which would include all stainless 2.5" construction with 90* bungs for the rear 02 sensors
