2 series posts under "new posts"

Does anyone else have this issue? Click on "new posts" and see non-Z4 related threads?

Yep. All the time. Members, sponsors, there's a forum setting/tag/bucket that needs to be re-configured. I've sent PM's to mods a couple of times the past 6M and complete silence. Even sent screenshots. Maybe more people need to note it, not enough squeaky wheels?

Whatever the reason, the result is that I never read sponsor posts as they're invariably not related to this forum. Which is disappointing, since might miss something cool! Threads and posts are a bit easier to sort (in a browser) since I know poster's names.

I never use the New Post feature but people have complained about it's function before. Its why the firearm off-topic section was removed. A couple guys complained that they didn't want to see that stuff in the new posts feature but the Administrators just closed everything and banned anyone who talked about guns instead of fixing the issue of what shows up on new posts. I'm still banned from off topic because of this. I might get banned just for saying "gun" again too..... Point being, the mods probably wont fix this issue.

Disappointing. It was a wonderful feature and encouraged participation. If you were in the M3 section, or the E89 section you saw posts for that forum only. (Separate logins btw, at least for me, same id, and password, but moving to E89 for example makes me log in again.) Very handy for seeing new activity, engaging, and commenting. Kept people on the forums longer.

That's what you want--drive traffic and keep it.

I'd think it would affect revenue. Lots of folks probably don't use it now, only open threads from "known" members, which means sponsor threads and posts are left unread.

Personally, I just go down the list of sections and look for the highlighted symbol for new posts. That or I just click on the top posts in each section. Remember though, this forum is a free service and you do not have to read any threads you don't want to.

Forum has been buggy in general. I get notifications VERY late or sometimes new notifications are really old ones despite me clicking "Clear All." Not to mention, the other day (and only that day), every link I clicked on led to a pop-up ad. And I doubt it was malware because I was surfing on my iPhone.

Interestingly, if you use the new post feature in the mobile application, it seems to work just fine. I popped over on mobile today at lunch, hit new posts, and it's completely's zpost related only. However, if I pop over and look at it in the browser, it's cluttered up with two series and other posts.

Maybe they're putting their focus on the mobile application figuring that's how most "forum" these days.

Anyway mobile seems ok. Can anyone else confirm?

eh, I look at it this way. The users are the ones generating content and views, the sponsors pay for the exposure. We have the right to complain

Oh absolutely you do have the right to complain. However my experience with just trying to get an answer out of the admins is that it is probably a waste of time. Jason wouldn't reply to or even read multiple PMs, emails, or even messages on his profile. I had to make a thread in a public part of the forum just to get him to answer a question about my ban and then he again didn't read my reply. Good luck though. If you send anyone a PM, make sure to add a read receipt.

this is happening more and more, even more annoying are the non-Z4 sponsor posts in the "new thread" searches

This is the main reason I've been staying away from this site in the last few months

I agree.
There is no need for this.
It's a 5 min fix in the vBulletin Admin Control Panel

ZSTIG:
I agree with you about all of the non Z posts poping up in the "New Post" search. Also, why are all of the vendor listings taking over the site? I thought that was why the classified sections were for. Especially annoying when you use this funciton are all of the posts for parts that are not for Z4 cars from the "sponsers".

now the X5 posts are showing up as "new posts" too.

This is why I've been avoiding this site

If you have an iphone, the app version is much cleaner. Vendor posts are still cluttering now and then, but not too bad. The web version? A bit cluttered. We do miss seeing you around here.
