Once these prior items are done....I'll move into modifying the interior headliner for the removable CF roof kit and it will also act as the final headliner for the clear Acrylic tinted roofs.

Then onward to the Aero side-skirts etc.

7 days a week thus far.......................

PS> I wonder if I should begin a "CF Roof" group buy thread to see how big the interest is going to be ??

I weighed the stripped OEM metal hatch today =31.6 lbs.-(no glass, trim, latches, emblems).

The all glass hatch -(also devoid/stripped of parts) =10.8 lbs !

Quite typical of metal to composite replacement comparo's.

The OEM glass window = 15.8 lbs. I would imagine a Lexan replacement would also come in 2/3rds lighter as well.

So a composite hatch and window may hit 16.1lbs lbs as opposed to metal and glass pushing south of 47 lbs Not bad at all.

Savings of 31.3 lbs. off the rear axle leverage !

Cheers, Vinny

Guess that means some of you older guys can carry that spare tire in the driver seat and not feel the difference in acceleration.

Can you comment on the brake ducts, do you mean brake ducts for the rear brakes from your modified aero side skirts?

The brake ducts pictured in plug status are for the front M cover. They are to be made out of CF. No mods other than material make-up.

Although I do have a set of AERO side skirts in que, I've not begun their journey yet.

This Mustang can give us a good example of looks even though it's flat. Might heat be a concern for a permanent install?

Couple of things here >>

1)-Our roofs can see upwards of 250* on a saturated hot day scenario..easily. The Home Depot seals/weatherstrip adhesives cannot withstand this nor are they made in specific tolerances for sealing a roof at speed/heat/cold/compression.

2)-I'd much rather develop a product line that's complete and not requiring the customer to use off the shelf bits that aren't tested for how we are using them.

3)-I want my line of stuff to be un-box-install-drive....and if its to the hardware store great....but not for finishing up stuff I've sold them.

I bet you didn't think she'd be used as a production mule did you Kamal, lol

The high heat prototype tool is under way. I hope to have it cured by the 20th so it can be shipped to the plant for testing.

I meet with their engineers in a few weeks in the Mid-west for a face-to-face meeting going over specifics to tolerances etc.

I'll most likely make some mold tweaks and then build a production safe tool then.

My goal is to make these all more affordable than say the 'Varis' line.....not to mention stateside for shipping.

Line-up items are >>(All available in V-Weave 2x2 or 4x4 Twill or standard full Twill (no V-weave)

1)- CF roof & Full CF-Kevlar hybrid roof.
2)--CF Hatch & E-Glass Hatch.
3)--Aero composite side skirts.
4)--Aero brake cooled side skirts.

5)--M' hood vented and stock.
6)--3D front splitter.
7)--Rear functional diffuser for M' covers.
8)--S.I. front splitter.
9)--Polycarbonate or Acrylic-street clear-tinted roofs.with headliner.
10)-Polycarbonate rear hatch glass replacement.
11)-CF increased flow air scoop.

Even more to come......but we all know these take time to bring to the market.

I will probably be off the grid for a few weeks as I travel through the Midwest on business.

The High-heat mold is being shipped to the Optical Polycarbonate Mfr. so I can meet with them while in the state to go over details.

I just didn't want folks to think the thread had parked/died/flaked.

When I return after the 3rd/Aug. I will begin the CF roof sub-structure mold build now that I have the underside prepped for plugging.

Cheers,Vinny
