I don't consider a 7 hr drive round trip (not counting LA traffic) local, so I can't do an Autotalent GB.

True, but regardless, I still want to give Auto Talent a thumb down for not being upfront with you, or anyone who's called in for that matter.
If anything, I was the first "outsider" customer with this flashed for a Z4M, and even though I dealt with JleviSW (who is only a vendor for Active Autowerk), JSW still did a very good job in keeping me posted. They called my personal cell, e-mailed, PM'd, and everything. I'm not sure about others, but I prefer this personal attention when I'm a customer. It just makes a transaction that much more pleasant when there's proper communication

I don't think you're getting the runaround, it's a new release, they probably will be able to flash it for you and Autotalent is a good company and they do good work, it can be very difficult at times to keep track of every customer and remember everything you needed to do for them.

Keep in mind also margins in the business are not exactly high, having to field an hours worth of calls and make a bunch of them for 50$ when you have overhead is not pleasant.

Funny you mention that. While I was at Active today getting their tune we were talking about just that. They basically said they just need to make a few pipes and tune the ECU and the e46 M3 Supercharger kit would bolt right in with very little effort. In fact they said install would be much easier on our cars because we have more room under the hood. So that really got me thinking...

^ yep now the ECU can be done by them, its really 1 step away from a new kit on the market. Competition and choice is always encouraged.

By the time I'm in the market for FI, I'm hoping turbo application will be released by someone. If not, then at least S/C prices will be lower =]
And so will an S85 V10 swap LOL

I decided to make the long drive and got the tune today from Auto Talent. Very happy with it. F1soul is now in the #3 spot... shift@red and hairballs58 are removed.

so with these tunes we can perform ourselves through the obdII port if im not mistaken. is this a one time action or do we have the ability to tune whenever we needed with the software?

i ask this because i wasnt sure if the ecu was reset, say by disconnecting the battery, that the AA tune would disapear?

No, the ecu will need to be removed and shipped, disconnecting the battery will not remove the tune.
