Shout out your Love
....for your Gen 1 Z4 / Z4M !
Comparisons to vehicles that are 50% more in market price, well they grow tiresome to me. That is the gravy with the z4s --- they were bargains, and I am GLAD not everyone liked them..... otherwise the deals would not have happened. For what I paid, my Z4M is untouchable. Post if you feel the love!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone kidding?? I think because some of the journalists and Clarkson bang on about the Bangle, the more it appeals. This 2nd Gen, Z4si, [08] is over the top. The lines, the handling, even the space for long back road trips is just what the doctor ordered. I do not know of another car that has the same gracious lines tied to great performance in a straight line or on the twisties....Clarkson looks for audience ratings, is bit much on the theatrics as many of the Brit crowd on TV tend to be. Onward with this Z4 of mine.

Easy there OP, Z4Ms are exactly cheap, but I guess comparring to new CS4, Cayman S, E92 they are more affordable.

The "second generation" Z4 came out as a 2009 model, the roadster with the folding hard top. Except for a "freshing" in 2005 or 2006 (?) the cars are the same Z4 until the new iteration. I am not counting the addition of different engine capacities or models such as the MCoupe in 2006(?).

I'm new to the Z4 club (August) but my '07 is GREAT. I wanted to buy a Z4 for a few years. Car is great. I have zero complaints about interior or exterior styling. I was a little concerned about getting a soft top convertible as a DD but now that I have had it a few months that concern is gone.

Clarkson is not an authority... He is just an entertainer. He doesn't like Z4s because he thinks they're not comfortable.. It's a bloody sports car
He sometimes bases his whole opinion on the looks. He didn't like the Z4 roadsters, and he claimed the Coupe is even uglier.. It is personal, but come on, Z4 Coupe has all the right angles, lines and dimensions for a sports car! |

QUOTE] I've got a roadster and I think it looks incredible; I love driving with the top down and would never trade the car for a coupe. But - if I could get a second one, it would be a coupe. I think the coupe is even better looking than the roadster. Its just that I had to choose one, so i chose based on the added dimension of driving top down. If money were no issue, I'd have both of 'em!!!

If I had the money for a 2nd car, I'd get a roadster just for the sunny days. |

Driving with the top down
Sometimes I ask my wife to take me to work (mainly so we can use the HOV lane) but it's really just so I can drive it in the morning. Instead of a 25 minute commute, it turns into a quick 8 minute ride.
The "high occupancy vehicle lanes" are for two or more people in the car. This morning as we passed a couple of motorcycle officers parked in the interstate median monitoring the traffic on LBJ635, I raised my arm and thumb pointed to the bozo behind me riding my ass. (He was alone, btw). Flip goes the red lights and a quick blip on the siren and he was off my ass. My Z4 always gets lots of looks. It's just ! Nice pics Huz |
