black/black chrome exhaust tips for BMW z4 Coupe

I have searched exhaust tips for BMW z4 coupe and I have seen the DIY which are very informative, but I simply want to remove my stock chrome exhaust tips and replace them with black chrome or some kind of black exhaust tips. I know it is just a screw holding each exhaust tip on, so it shouldn't be hard to remove. If anyone could point me in the right direction of exhaust tips for sale that are black/black chrome, it would be greatly appreciated. My car is a 2007 BMW Z4 coupe 3.0si with 15,000 miles. I will be selling the stock tips once I get them switched out. Thank-you in advance.

Look up a local powder coating company. It'll be cheap.

i think bmw sells oem black chrome exhaust tips.

if i remember correctly, they just pull off. no screws.

i'm almost possitive they'll be too large for your outlets. i think the ID of the pressure tabs inside the LCI 3.0si tips is larger than the OD of the pre-LCI 2.5i.

Odd, in some searches it shows they fit the full spectrum of models, in others it shows that part number as specific to the 3.0i/si. Odd.

i just ran the number through my copy of ETK... it only fits n52 engined z4's (LCI), which supports the link you've posted.

there's certainly no harm in trying though.

Yeah, just don't see any #s specific for the 2.5i. Well, that does it, I'll have to trade it in on a 3.0si.

According to my exhaust/muffler guy, they WILL fit your car. Are you sure the tips will simply pull off? This would make it much easier, but I'm hearing they DO NOT sell black chrome/black tips anymore, so I guess powder coating is my only solution. PM me if you're interested in buying them before I list them else where. Thanks again.

I stopped by BMW of DSM this morning to drop off the wife's 3'er, and wouldn't fate have it there was a z43.0si roady sitting there!

the tips did not have set screws. you may have to get hulk-mad to get them off, but just keep pulling on them.

also, my handy tape measure put them at a diameter of 72mm. compare this to the stock ///m tips of 65mm. yes... the 3.0si tips are larger than the ///m tips.

I had my RE exhaust powder coated black - cost was $150 for the entire axle-back system (pics are here). That was 2 years ago, and it's held up great to the heat and stones/etc… and as a bonus, you don't have to clean the tips as much as you do the chrome ones!

The supposedly hi-temp gloss black powder coat on mine lost the gloss on the rear third of the tips after the first track weekend... a coating more amenable to the temps (i.e., ceramic) might indeed be a good idea.

My best solution is just pulling the tips off and having them powder coated in black chrome. I appreciate the offer(s) and apologize for not being able to sell them. I was going to paint everything, but after jacking the car up and looking underneath it looks to be much more complicated (re-welding the pipe(s)) etc than it is to do the M, which a few screws have to be removed. Thanks again.
